Calvary Baptist Church of Providence is pleased to announce the Installation Service and reception of its new Senior Pastor, Reverend Wesley McClure. The installation service will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 10 AM at the church located at 747 Broad Street, Providence, RI. Calvary Baptist is a multi-cultural church and will soon be celebrating its 175-year anniversary. It is with great gratitude and joy that the congregation installs Reverend McClure at this special time.
Pastor McClure is an ordained pastor and passionate servant of Jesus Christ with over 20 years of combined international and cross-cultural preaching, teaching, leadership, and organizational experience in adult, discipleship, youth, outreach, missions, and justice ministries. He served as an Associate Pastor, Campus Pastor, and Minister of Enablement at the English Ministry Affiliate of Onnuri Church, a 70,000-member international megachurch in Seoul, Korea. He has been on missionary and vision prayer trips and ministered in Haiti, Korea, Mongolia, Japan, and Thailand.
Wesley has been a minister and teacher at Cross Ridge Baptist Church in Little Elm, Texas, where he was ordained to the gospel ministry. Wesley also served as a minister at Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Westerly, RI, where he was licensed to preach the Gospel. Pastor McClure began his seminary education at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Center for Urban Ministerial Education (C.U.M.E), and has a Master’s Degree in Discipleship from Dallas Baptist University, a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Pastor McClure has several impressive affiliations, including being a former graduate advisor at Brown University to Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and law student advisor at Soongsil University in Seoul, Korea to the Christian Law Students Association.
