How We Are Organized
The governing body of the church, with God and Christ at the center, is the Servant Leader Team (SLT), which is called through God’s love, faith, mercy, and actions. It is made up of officers and up to ten additional members elected by the congregation at the Annual Meeting by active members of the congregation. They are elected by church membership for a term of one year. The additional members serve for no more than four consecutive terms on the SLT before having to go off for at least one year.
The purpose of the SLT is to be responsible for the management of both spiritual and temporal affairs of the church, but subject to the authority of the church membership. It acts, in all respects, as the Board of Directors of this church and corporation. All matters pertaining to or affecting the work and policy of the church are subject to the supervision of the congregation and direction of the SLT.
Servant Leadership is a management philosophy that implies a comprehensive view of the quality of people, work, and community spirit. It requires a spiritual understanding of identity, mission, vision, and environment. A servant leader is a servant first, who has the responsibility to serve in the world, and so she/he contributes to the well-being of people and community.

Our mission is simple: to love God, serve people, and live out the Gospel. Every Sunday at 10AM, we gather to worship through heartfelt music, meaningful prayer, and practical messages rooted in Scripture. Throughout the week, we stay connected through small groups, service opportunities, and community engagement — encouraging one another to live with purpose and compassion. We don’t just want to be a church people attend; we want to be a church family that makes a lasting difference in the lives of others.

The Purpose of this Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to serve the Lord by serving the people to meet their full potential in spirit, mind, and body. Prayer, ministry, and practicing the word of God are essential components of this ministry.
Following the election of the Servant Leader Team, the Church Moderator calls the SLT together to organize the Standing Committees outlined above for the year. The congregation and/or its members of the SLT may serve as Chairpersons of a Standing Committee or serve on a Standing Committee based on the individual’s experience, ability, and time. The SLT hears reports and recommendations from the Standing Committees. Only members of the SLT are eligible to vote on the reports and recommendations of the Standing Committees.
Calvary Baptist Church’s mission statement states that we welcome all people and joyfully serve the lord by ministering to our members and neighbors and by sharing God’s Word through worship, teaching, hospitality, and discipleship.
